Our shop sells quality, repaired/cleaned and tested donated items at reasonable prices to raise funds to contribute to local community service projects as well as the work of global partners for relief, development and peace.

This opportunity is also suitable for:

  • individuals who are intermediate in English.
  • wheelchair users.

Volunteer Duties

  • Test donated small appliances to check if they are working.
  • Clean, price and take out to the retail floor.

Age Requirements

16 years old or above

Other Requirements

  • Understand how to test electrical appliances safely.
  • There is a dress code (business casual). We strive to create and promote a friendly, positive and inclusive experience for all customers, donors and volunteers.

Schedule

Mondays/Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays/Saturdays for 3–4 hours (between 9:30am and 4:30pm)

Training is provided by our retail store manager on the cash register and customer service.

We provide a letter of reference once you have contributed 60 or more hours of volunteer time.

The thrift shop is accessible by bus and volunteers have a 15 – 20 minute break each shift.
