On-Call and Regular Cashier Volunteers

Cashiers are an important role as they represent Lethbridge MCC Thrift in all their interactions with customers.

Our shop sells quality, repaired/cleaned and tested donated items at reasonable prices to raise funds to contribute to local community service products as well as the work of global partners for relief, development and peace.

We are on bus route, and volunteers take breaks as needed in the lunchroom where coffee, tea, iced tea and snacks are provided.

This opportunity is also suitable for individuals who are intermediate in English.

Volunteer Duties

  • Accurately process purchases of customers at the cash register, including giving back correct change.
  • Provide friendly customer service.
  • Assist customers if needed.
  • Help maintain an organized and clean shop environment.
  • Assist with displays as needed.
  • Receive feedback from customers in a positive manner and call manager when needed.

Age Requirements

16 years old or above

Other Requirements

  • Basic math and English literacy
  • There is a dress code (business casual). We strive to create and promote a friendly, positive and inclusive experience for all customers, donors and volunteers.

Schedule

Weekdays/Saturdays:

  • 9:30am–1:30pm
  • 1:30pm–5pm
