Whoop Up Days Elephant Ears Volunteers

Looking for volunteers to assist in a variety of roles to make and serve Elephant Ears during Whoop Days (August 17th to August 21st, 2026).

Volunteer Duties

  • Help prepare ingredients.
  • Roll out dough.
  • Bake, fry, add sugar and spice.
  • Wrap and serve the very popular ‘elephant ears’ treats.
  • Taking orders and collecting money.

Age Requirements

14 year old (those under 14 can be accompanied by a guardian)

Other Requirements

  • This is a food service and customer service position, so it requires the volunteer to be comfortable with food handling and standing for long periods of time, the biggest factor is your teamwork/adaptability skills!
  • Must consent to our LSCO code of conduct agreement.

Schedule

  • August 17-21, 2026 (Shifts from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., 11 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.)
  • This is a multi-day event and volunteers would be more than welcome to help out with multiple dates/shifts.

A remote volunteer opportunity with the option to meet with your senior once a month at the LSCO Community Connect Coffee Group.

Weekdays from 8am-11am – help prepare food at our in-house kitchen.

Onsite training provided.

We make peeling potatoes, cutting up vegetables and decorating cookies fun!

We need 2 people each day to support our chefs in preparing meals for our community center’s dining room and the Meals on Wheels program.

If you have a special kitchen talent or interest in learning how to prepare food, we would love for you to share your skills with us.
