Summer Cashier

Our shop sells quality, repaired/cleaned and tested donated items at reasonable prices to raise funds to contribute to local community service projects as well as the work of global partners for relief, development and peace.

Training is provided by our retail store manager on the cash register and customer service.

We provide a letter of reference once you have contributed 60 or more hours of volunteer time.

The thrift shop is accessible by bus and volunteers have a 15 – 20 minute break each shift.

Volunteer Duties

  • Accurately process purchases of customers at the cash register including giving back correct change.
  • Providing friendly customer service, assisting customers if needed.
  • Helping maintain an organized and clean shop environment.
  • Assisting with displays as needed.
  • Receiving feedback from customers in a positive manner and calling manager when needed.
  • Cashiers are in an important role as they represent Lethbridge MCC Thrift in all their interactions with customers.

Age Requirements

18 years old or above

  • There is a dress code (business casual). We strive to create and promote a friendly, positive and inclusive experience for all customers, donors and volunteers.

Schedule

Weekdays and Saturdays:

  • 9:30am–1:30pm
  • 1:30pm–5pm
