Fundraising & Stewardship Lead – Volunteer
The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is a 5k or 1k walk or run. It is a volunteer-led event and the largest breast cancer fundraiser in Canada.
This year’s event will be taking place on Sunday, October 4, 2026.
Volunteer Duties
As a logistics leadership volunteer, you will be part of our organizing committees of 10 to 15 volunteers who will work over the months to help us organize our fundraising events. Depending on the needs in your community, available roles could include committee lead, logistics, community outreach, volunteer lead, and social media.
As the volunteer Fundraising & Stewardship Lead, you will be responsible for:
- Creating a fundraising & stewardship strategy to increase revenue.
- Organizing volunteer-led fundraising event(s) in support of the CIBC Run for the Cure.
- Responding to inquiries on your local CIBC Run for the Cure email account. (Access to a computer is required).
- Recognizing and stewarding key supporters through meaningful touchpoints.
- Identifying local storytellers.
Age Requirements
Must be 18 years old or above

- A strong sense of self-motivation and time management
Schedule
- This is a 6-month commitment (May through October).
- Attending local committee meetings (generally bi-weekly to monthly).
- Independent role work/responsibilities (approx. 6-8 hours per month, with increased workload August & September).
- Must be available over the event weekend (October 3 & October 4)
