  • Suitable for SeniorsSuitable for Seniors

Art Auction returns on Saturday, May 2, 2026.  Art Auction is a great way to get involved in the community, help raise money for the gallery, and spend time with people who love art as much as you.

Volunteer Duties

  • Greeter & Check in (2-3): Greet guests, check guests in. Answer questions about the event and location of the bar, auction, etc.
  • Coat Check (2): Take guests coats, give them a coat check tag. This position will be needed at the start of the night, at intermission, and at the end of the night.
  • Event Support (2-3): Direct guests throughout the space. Answer questions about the event and location of the bar, auction, etc. Assist where needed as event support.
  • Showcasing (5-6): Walk the live auction art onstage for viewing. Should be comfortable in front of an audience. Assist in packaging and preparing live auction items to be taken home that evening. Art handling experience is an asset but not required.
  • Auction Spotter (1-2): Flag bidders for auctioneers during live auction. Collect the winning bidder’s information and pass on to Gallery staff.

Age Requirements

Must be 18 years old or above

Other Requirements

  • The dress code for the event is semi-formal, cocktail attire.
  • We recommend wearing comfortable shoes as there will be a lot of standing and walking during the event; if this presents a physical barrier to your volunteering please let us know so that we can provide accommodations.
  • Snacks and a catered dinner is provided to all volunteers. Please communicate any dietary restrictions to the Gallery at least 2 weeks in advance of Art Auction.
  • Volunteers should be comfortable engaging with members of the public.
  • Volunteers can fulfil multiple roles throughout the evening (i.e. coat check and greeters may also showcase the artwork).
