Crafternoon Volunteers

  • Suitable for SeniorsSuitable for Seniors
  • Suitable for YouthSuitable for Youth

Crafternoon is a fun and family-friendly program that provides the opportunity to learn new art techniques and projects inspired by the Gallery’s current exhibitions. On the last Saturday of each month, we organize a self-directed drop-in art activity in our Creativity Centre.

Crafternoon is held at the Southern Alberta Art Gallery (601 3rd Ave S) in Lethbridge, AB. Volunteers are welcome to attend one or multiple sessions.

Volunteer Duties

Volunteer duties:

  • Assist with the set up of the art activity and light refreshments (water, juice, snacks, etc.).
  • Participate in the art activity.
  • Assist the program leader and participants throughout the afternoon.
  • Help to clean up the program, if available.

Age Requirements

15 years old or above

Other Requirements

Requirements:

  • Crafternoon projects are designed to be fun for all skills levels, so an art background is NOT required for volunteers.
  • Crafternoon is a family-targeted program: Volunteers are required to have a vulnerable sector check. Volunteers should be comfortable working/around with a wide range of ages, including children.
  • Volunteers are not expected to provide childcare, as children must be supported by an adult when attending Crafternoon.

Schedule

We are looking for 1-2 volunteers per session to assist with the programs. The program runs from  1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a volunteer call time of 12:45 p.m.

We are looking for assistance for the following dates:

  • Suncatchers: January 31st, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Glow House Lanterns: February 28th, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
