Board Member

Womanspace Resource Centre is a community-based organization that has been active in Lethbridge since 1993 and has been a registered charity since 2021.
Our vision: A thriving community where all women are empowered to have financial independence.
Towards that vision, Womanspace runs a free income tax clinic affiliated with Canada Revenue Agency’s Community Income Tax Volunteer Program operated by a part-time staff person and several volunteers. We also collaborate with other community-based organizations to offer financial literacy sessions.
We are looking for one or two new board members.
Womanspace Resource Centre values feminism, empowerment, respect, and inclusivity.
Volunteer Duties
- Attend board meetings, which are held 6 to 8 times per year.
- There are opportunities to participate in activities a few times a year (ex., off-site evening tax clinic) but these are not required of board members.
Age Requirements
18 years old or above
Other Requirements
- Some board experience would be an asset.
- Financial experience or knowledge is not required.
Schedule
- Minimum once a month commitment.
- Board meetings are held at 7pm for about 1 hour. The specific day of the week varies depending on people’s schedule.
- Terms are for 3 years and are renewable.
