Session/Room Moderators

Board Leadership Lethbridge is a collaboration of community leaders working together to provide access to training opportunities for Board members of non-profit organizations. Our committee representatives include various non-profit organizations, Boards, community networks, service groups, and government entities.

Volunteer Duties

Moderators are the point of contact for presenters and help ensure that sessions run smoothly and on time.

  • Moderator scripts, bios, gifts, and evaluation materials will be provided in each room.
  • Event committee members will be nearby to support with questions or issues.

Key Duties:

  • Arrive 10-15 minutes early to connect with the presenter.
  • Distribute handouts (if any) and confirm the presenter’s introduction, timing needs, and other preferences.
  • Introduce the presenter, make announcements (e.g., phones off), and manage session flow.
  • Provide a 5-minute time warning when requested.
  • At session close:
    • Remind participants about evaluations (QR code and hard copies).
    • Thank the presenter and present them with their gift.
    • Collect any evaluation forms and assist with tidy-up.
  • Help clear the room for the next session.
  • Moderator scripts, bios, gifts, and evaluation materials will be provided in each room.
  • Event committee members will be nearby to support with questions or issues.

      Age Requirements

      18 years old or above

      Schedule

      Saturday, October 24, 2026 at Lethbridge Polytechnic – Instructional Building (IB)

      • Morning: 8am-12:30pm (lunch available after shift, 12:30pm-1pm)
      • Afternoon: 12:30pm-5pm (lunch available before shift, 12pm-1pm)
      • Full Day: Both shifts (includes lunch 12pm-1pm)

        Volunteers are welcome to attend sessions for free during times they are not scheduled.
