Run Day Experience Lead Volunteer
The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is a 5k or 1k walk or run. It is a volunteer-led event and the largest breast cancer fundraiser in Canada.
This year’s event will be taking place on Sunday, October 4, 2026.
Volunteer Duties
As a logistics leadership volunteer, you will be part of our organizing committees of 10 to 15 volunteers who will work over the months to help us organize our fundraising events. Depending on the needs in your community, available roles could include committee lead, logistics, community outreach, volunteer lead, and social media.
As the volunteer Run Day Experience Lead, you will be responsible for:
- Securing entertainment and coordinating engaging activities to ensure a memorable event experience both on and off the stage.
- Securing Emcee and Warm up lead for opening ceremonies
- Booking a stage, audio visual, power, and all other logistics needed to give an exciting event experience.
- Creating a run of show (RoS) and executing on event day.
- Finalizing the event day script and ensuring opening ceremonies are executed without issue.
- Overseeing set up and teardown for stage and all other event experience-related areas.

18 years old or above

- A strong sense of self-motivation and time management
Schedule
This year’s event will be taking place on Sunday, October 4, 2026.
Commitment:
- This is a 6-month commitment (May through October).
- Attending local committee meetings (generally bi-weekly to monthly).
- Independent role work/responsibilities (approx. 4-6 hours per month).
- Must be available over the event weekend (October 3 & October 4)
