Recreation Volunteers

Lethbridge Dopamine Boxing Club’s mission is to use the power of boxing to promote health, resilience, and community for people of all ages and abilities. We provide specialized programs that improve mobility and quality of life for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease and Multiple Sclerosis, while also offering recreational and competitive boxing opportunities for children, youth, and adults. By reducing barriers to fitness and fostering inclusion, we create a supportive environment where every participant can grow stronger physically, mentally, and socially.

Volunteer Duties

Assist coaches with weekly program

  • Assist participants
  • Attend in house training and orientation
  • Set up and take down equipment including bags, gloves and balls for classes
  • Sanitize equipment

Age Requirements

Must be 18 years old or above

Other Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate
  • Patient
  • Interest in fitness
  • Interest in learning about boxing
  • Ability to provide physical support to participants if needed to lean on a partner to maintain stability while performing boxing drills
  • Current first aid certification would be an asset

Schedule

  • Ability to commit to at least four hours per month
  • Attendance is required for at least one class per week
  • Classes are held 10am on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10am
  • Ability to commit for a minimum of a six month period
  • Volunteers will attend an orientation to the volunteer role and shadow classes with the head coach
