Program Assistant Volunteer

A skilled Program Assistant will be able to lead a program to multiple individuals and explain the content in a universal manner. This position is integral to the success of the “TechKnowProgram” that will help seniors increase their confidence with technology.

The program will take place at Nord-Bridge Seniors Centre located at 1904 13 AveN, Lethbridge, AB T1H 4W9. Operating hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Volunteer Duties

  • Lead seniors through various courses covering a wide range of topics to increase their confidence and competency with technology.
  • Engage with seniors and answer any or all questions they have regarding the programming.
  • Assist seniors with navigating various websites, programs, and other components on the web.
  • Assist seniors with operating computers and tablets.
  • Work with other program assistants to ensure that the program operates efficiently and effectively.

  • Age: 18 years old or above

A skilled Administrative Assistant will undertake a variety of day-to-day office and clerical tasks. This position is an integral member of the team – ensuring that our office operations run smoothly and that Volunteer Lethbridge is poised for success in supporting volunteers, our programming, and our community.

There will be two (2) supervisors: the Volunteer Coordinator and the Operational and Human Resources Coordinator. The supervisors provide continuing or individual assignments by indicating generally what is to be done, limitations, quality and quantity expected, deadlines and priorities. Additional, specific instructions are given for new, difficult, or unusual assignments. The volunteer uses initiative in carrying out recurring assignments. The supervisors assure that the work is technically accurate and in compliance with instructions or established procedures.

Training is provided.
