MyCityCare Lethbridge is a non-profit organization that relies on the support of dedicated volunteers to achieve its mission of serving the community. As a volunteer with MyCityCare, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of those in need by helping to meet the basic needs of clothing, food, and community.

MyCityCare has a variety of programs and initiatives throughout the year, including Cinderella Project & Tux Shop, Stuff the Bus, Mobile Street Stores, and Shop of Wonders.

As a volunteer with MyCityCare Lethbridge, you will receive training and ongoing support from staff members to ensure you feel confident and prepared in your role. Your time and effort will be greatly appreciated and will make a positive impact on the community we serve.

Volunteer Duties

  • Assist with the main office and Street Stores.
  • Sort and organize donated clothing items.
  • Assist clients as “Personal Shoppers” in selecting clothing.
  • Maintain a clean and organized clothing room environment.
  • Help to put together emergency food hampers and bag lunches and organize the food pantry area.
  • Assist with organizing and running community events such as Street Stores, which are the mobile clothing unit and the seasonal programs like Cinderella project (March-May) and Shop of Wonders (November-December).

Age Requirements

16 years old or above

    Should possess the following qualities:

    • Strong communication skills
    • Compassion and empathy for those in need
    • Ability to work collaboratively with a team
    • Willingness to learn and take on new tasks
    • Ability to follow directions and work independently when necessary
    • Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations

    Schedule

    • Mondays-Thursdays
      • Morning (9:45am-1pm)
      • Afternoon (12:30pm-4pm)
