Gardening Volunteer
Society volunteers develop and maintain the ornamental garden in the public area of the Lethbridge Research and Development Centre. The garden demonstrates the variety of annual and perennial plants as well as shrubs and trees that will grow in the Chinook Belt of southern Alberta.
As part of the team of volunteers, you can take pride in keeping the gardens maintained for the enjoyment of the public. You can learn about a variety of plants that thrive in this area from very knowledgeable volunteers. A great chance to get some fresh air while working in a beautiful location.
With your help, we can keep the Fairfield Gardens looking beautiful!
Volunteer Duties
- Help with spring garden bed cleanup.
- Pruning and planting annual flowers, weeding, or watering.
Age Requirements
No minimum age
Other Requirements
- No gardening experience required and training is provided.
- Volunteers will require their own personal transportation. There is no public transportation available.
Schedule
Flexible schedule with ideally at least 2 hours a month from May 1–September 1.
