The Lethbridge Helpers provides free online tutoring for elementary, junior high, and high school students throughout Southern Alberta. We are a youth‑run organization partnered with the YouthInspirED Foundation (Halifax, Nova Scotia) and YWCA Lethbridge.  We’re looking for someone who enjoys connecting with people to help grow our team of volunteer tutors. If you like meeting new people, staying organized, and contributing to something meaningful, this role could be perfect for you.

Volunteer Duties

  • Reach out to schools, local groups, nonprofits, and community organizations across Southern Alberta
  • Build and maintain positive partnerships that help us connect with more students and volunteers
  • Send simple, friendly outreach emails to promote our programs and opportunities
  • Help plan or support occasional in‑person community events (optional and flexible)
  • Share updates on local initiatives that could benefit students and families
  • Work alongside our executive team to support new collaborations and ideas

    Age Requirements

    18 years old or above

    Other Requirements

     

    • Comfortable communicating with new people (email or in person)
    • Friendly, positive, and professional tone
    • Organized and able to manage outreach tasks each week
    • Interest in community engagement, partnerships, marketing, or communications
    • A team‑player attitude and passion for helping students succeed

    No previous outreach experience needed, just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn

    Schedule

    This is a volunteer position with an expected commitment of 2-3 hours per week. All work is

    conducted remotely, offering flexibility to work from home.

    The Lethbridge Helpers, a free virtual tutoring program, is looking for compassionate and dedicated volunteer tutors to help K-12 students in need of academic support.

    A volunteer experience that is remote and flexible – you choose your availability and the subject(s) you are most comfortable with, and we’ll match you with students accordingly. Whether it’s Math, English, Science, or another subject, your time and knowledge can truly make an impact.
