The Board ensures that the organization is operated in the interests of the members.

Volunteer Duties

  • To “oversee the operation of the Lethbridge Symphony Association (LSA).”
  • Carry out the functions and obligations of the LSA as designated in the bylaws;
  • Serve as the policy-making body for the LSA;
  • Counsel, advise, and deliberate with management regarding the policy and operations of the LSA;
  • Develop a strategic plan, set operational goals and priorities, and evaluate progress;
  • Serve in a public and community relations capacity;
  • Appoint such committees as it considers necessary;
  • Conduct a board self-evaluation annually;
  • Approve the budget annually and monitor the financial health of the organization.

Schedule

  • The LSA board meets monthly, in-person, on the 3rd Thursday of each month, at 5pm for approximately 90 minutes.
  • The board of directors may meet at other times should there be a pressing matter which demands their attention, though this does not happen often.
