Coulee Fest SAAG Art Activity Table

  • Suitable for YouthSuitable for Youth

The Gallery will be hosting an outreach and art activity booth at Lethbridge Polytechnic’s Coulee Fest.

Coulee Fest is a family-targeted funfair on the Lethbridge Polytechnic Campus. We’re looking for volunteers to support our staff and guest artists at this fun event.

Volunteer Duties

  • Program set up: volunteers will assist the guest artist and Gallery staff in preparing the craft booth for the program, setting up materials, organizing the table, prepping and laying out the activity, and other set up needs as required.
  • Participation: volunteers will participate in the craft activity with program participants. The artist will walk them through the craft project following the activity set up to ensure they feel confident doing the project.
  • Activity support: volunteers will assist the guest artist and participants throughout the program, providing guidance on the activity when appropriate and/or raising concerns to the guest artist. They will help to clean up the space throughout the activity, such as throwing out paper scraps, putting lids on glue sticks and markers, sharpening pencils, and other jobs as needed.
  • Program clean up: volunteers will assist with cleaning up after the activity, putting away materials, packing up the booth, and transporting it back to the Gallery’s vehicle(s) – Special considerations: Coulee Fest is a public, family-targeted event and the Gallery’s booth will likely be in the kids zone.

Age Requirements

16 years old or above

Requirements

  • Volunteers should be comfortable working/around with a wide range of ages, including children.
  • Volunteers are not expected to provide childcare, as children must be supported by an adult when attending Coulee Fest.
  • Volunteers should be comfortable engaging with members of the public. The art project is designed to be fun for all skills levels so an art background is not required for volunteers. This program will take place outside and the event may be noisy.

Schedule

September 13, 2025 (11am-5pm)

We ask that volunteers arrive at Lethbridge Polytechnic by 10:45am. Location specifics will be communicated closer to the date.

The Gallery is looking for volunteer support for our Coulees & Culture Day Camps.

These camps are presented in partnership with Helen Schuler Nature Centre, Galt Museum & Archives, New West Theatre, and Fort Whoop Up. Campers move between institutions each day to get new exciting experiences from Lethbridge’s cultural sector. The Gallery hosts up to 15 campers ages 6-10 for a day of programming, including art projects, games, and outdoor activities.

We are looking for volunteers to help support our program leaders and assistants during these camps, specifically with outdoor lunch supervision and clean up support.
