Primo Music Association is the parent not-for-profit organization associated with Centric MusicFest. Centric MusicFest is an art and classical music festival that has taken place in Lethbridge each July for the past 10 years.
We are calling for any members of the community who might be interested in serving on our board to reach out to us. We are particularly seeking a volunteer with accounting or finance experience. You do not need a background in music! We do want you to be enthusiastic about helping us feature wonderful concerts in Southern Alberta in the summer. We are eager to engage with volunteers with a diversity of backgrounds and experiences.
Volunteer Duties
- Participate in board meetings and assist with governance and the organization’s events as required.
- For someone interested in working in the capacity of treasurer, use accounting software to review expense and income statements, reconcile bank records, participate in authorizing payments, assist the ED with budgeting, assist to prepare year-end financial statements. The number of entries per month are modest and the most activity occurs between June and August related to the music festival.
Other Requirements
- Age: 18 years old or above
- Accounting/bookkeeping skills are an asset for someone interested in the duties of treasurer.
Schedule
2 hours per month, with higher time commitments around the festival dates (typically early July).
Board meetings are held virtually, after regular work hours or on a weekend.
