Board Members
Are you passionate about shaping the future workforce in Southwestern Alberta? Career Transitions is looking for new Board members to help guide and support our mission.
We work with local businesses and industries to help students in grades 7-12 explore career paths through hands-on experiences, real-world connections, and confidence-building opportunities. If you’re eager to share your time, skills, and passion for youth and career education, we’d love to hear from you.
We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds—vacant positions are currently available.
Volunteer Duties
- Prepare, attend, and participate in board meetings, committee meetings, AGM, and special events.
- Listen to others’ views, advocate their own, identify common interests and alternatives, and be open to compromise.
- Provide strategic leadership and governance to the organization.
- Collaborate with other board members to set organizational goals.
- Support the Executive Director in implementing strategic initiatives.
- Stay informed about what is going on within the organization, ask questions, and request information when needed.
- Be an ambassador for the organization in a positive, supportive manner.
Age Requirements
18 years old or above
Schedule
- Commitment to a minimum of a 2 (two) year term.
- Able to meet once per month for approximately 2 (two) hours on the 3rd Tuesday of the month.
- Able to commit approximately 6-12 hours per year participating in committee work.
- Volunteer support or board member attendance is occasionally requested for special events or projects.
- Additional time requirements vary depending on the time of year.
